First method: with powdered milk

In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and sugar.
Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Reduce heat to low and let mixture simmer slowly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or burning. Do not let it boil completely.
Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes or until mixture thickens and reduces by half its volume.
